Regular buses make the 25km journey West from Montana to the carpet making village of Chiprovtsi, nestling between the hightest mountains of the northeast, their jagged peaks marking the frontier between Bulgaria and Serbia. Chiprovsti lacks the historic building that would put it firmly on the tourist route, but it's the surrounding bowl of pastured hill that gives the village its visual appeal.
