Located on the Chepelarska river, at the northern foot of the western Rhodope mountain, Asenovgrad is 19km south of Plovdiv and 170km south east of sofia. This Quaint town, with a population of just 53,000, is a combination of mountains and valleys and benefits from a mild climate. Areas of interest include the 13th century church of St.Bogoroditsa, the winery and vineyard museum and the rock of Belintash.
