Byala
The charming village of Byala (population approx. 8,000) lies in a pretty, tranquil setting on the Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria. A traditional, unspoilt village, away from the existing development areas, it retains all the charm of its historic past, offering the holiday marker the ingredients of the perfect holiday - a pretty village centre, picturesque harbour area, long sandy beaches, shops, restaurants and cafes.
Travel to and from Byala is easy. During the summer season, a direct flight (approx. 3 hours) will take you straight to Varna. From there, the transfer to Byala is only 50 minutes by road.
The towns of Varna (40 km) and Bourgas (70 km) are close by, where ancient, medieval, renaissance and modern cultures mingle and coexist. The surrounding area, covered by vineyards, has much to attract the holiday maker. Byala means 'white' in Bulgarian and reflects the geological activity in the cliffs of the municipality. For those who like history, there is a small museum with information on the local heritage.
Byala has two beaches: one to the north of the village and one to the south, which joins Byala with its neighbouring town of Obzor. Two four-star hotels are currently under construction between Byala and Obzor, bringing additional facilities and nightlife to the area. There is a small local winery, which is open during the summer months for tours and tastings. To the north side of the village are plans for an upmarket resort club which will also bring benefit to the region. |
