Varvara

The Varvara village is situated on the seashore, at the foot of the Papia peak. Today it has 250 residents and is 9 km
away from Tsarevo.

Immigrants from the big east Thrace village, called Yatrus, first inhabited the area in 1913. In old maps the
village was registered by the name of Vardarah.
Traces of a Medieval fortress have been discovered on the Papia peak.

The shores around the Varvara village are studded with reefs and hollows and this makes it conducive for diving.

The quietness and solitude, such as the authentic atmosphere make this place an attractive spot.
Very close from the village is a factory for boat and yacht production.
The local people are mainly engaged in farming and charcoal production, and in recent time- in tourism.
